Tender is built as a local-first app. This means that everything happening in the app is happening on your device, in your browser.

This way of building apps helps us deliver on our promise to keep your data secure and offer a snappy, fast app.

Speedy UI

Because Tender is running directly on your device, interactions in the app are pretty snappy. Unlike most other personal finance apps, Tender doesn't have to talk to a server somewhere far away to work. You can even use the app while offline!

Cloud connections

Tender integrates with Plaid and Splitwise to import your transaction data.

These integrations are run from the Tender app on your device, proxied through our servers. Our servers never access your data when you aren't using the app - all communication, syncing, uploading, etc. is done at your request when you are using the app.

Web-forward

Tender is built on modern web technologies.

• Tender runs a CRDT and sqlite in the browser for a snappy, local-first app.
• Tender uses WebAuthn to support passkeys for secure, phising-resistant authentication
• Tender uses a service worker to support offline mode and optional installation
