Thanks for looking into Tender!
We're pretty serious about your privacy. If you're not satisfied with the answers on this page, please send us an email at support@tender.run about any other concerns!
tl; dr
- We never sell or look at your data.
- Your data is secured in transit and at rest with bank-grade encryption.
- We use passkeys to keep your account safe from phishing attempts.
Does my data get sold?
No. Your subscription cost pays for our services. We don't ever sell (or even look at) your data.
Can Tender move my money?
No. Tender uses read-only connections to import data from your bank accounts via plaid. In Tender's splitwise integration, Tender will only create new shared expenses at your request and does not edit any other data.
Where does my data get sent?
All calculations and changes to your data happen on your device, in your browser.
We also sync a backup copy of your data to our servers, but it's only used for backup and syncing. When you aren't using your app, we never access your data on your behalf.
We currently don't support opting-out of these backups. (send us an email if that's a deal breaker!)
How are backups secured?
We currently encrypt your data in transit and at rest. In the future, we'd like to also support end-to-end encryption of your data, but there's no timeline for that feature yet.
Can I save a copy of my data?
Yes, but we currently don't have an easy-to-use file format for export. If you're willing to get your hands dirty with some code, send us an email and we'll point you in the right direction.
Do you track how I use the app?
We don't run analytics or any other tracking tools in the app, but we do use Sentry for error reporting. Your private data is never sent to our error reporter.
We do run analytics on our marketing site, demo site, and signup flow to understand how our marketing efforts are doing. To best preserve your privacy, we use plausible, a privacy-centric alternative to traditional methods like Google Analytics.
How is my billing information stored?
Your credit card/billing information is processed on a PCI-Compliant network. We use Stripe as our payments processor.
